Development Consultant (USA)
Development Consultant US (Contract)
T1International is a global organization that is quickly growing, both in supporters and staff. However we are still fairly new in our fundraising development and currently only have a small Development (Fundraising) Team. T1International has a current annual budget of just under $1 million. We are currently 90% grant funded, with a strong base of individual donors. The goal of this role is to add additional short term capacity in some key areas of development to help to diversify our funding portfolio and support long term financial sustainability.
We are looking for expert knowledge in Grants research and writing, as well as Major Gifts research within the health and advocacy sector to add both additional knowledge and practical support to the current Development Team. This position would undertake research and information gathering to grow our grants pipeline and also hands on support in writing and submitting key funding applications/proposals. Within our Major Donor area we are specifically looking for someone who has experience in prospect research and pipeline cultivation. The ideal candidate would have a high level of competence and expertise within Grants as well as Major Gifts, ideally having experience of advocacy organisations on a national scale across the USA.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Research and Development - 50%
As the Development Consultant you will undertake a review of the current funding pipeline and then undertake additional research to grow and develop this into a healthy functioning long term grants pipeline. This will include researching new funders and detailing funder criteria and timelines.
You will also be required to review and prospect within our current donorpool for potential major gift prospects as well as potentially looking to our wider audience for additional cold prospects. Again you would be expected to build a healthy functioning long term major gifts pipeline, with suggestions for next steps with key individual donors as required.
Implementation and Administration- 50%
Once the pipeline has been fully built you would be expected, working with the Development Director, to compile and write some key funding applications/proposals in line with the findings and prospects within the pipeline. We would expect these to vary in value and be for a range of project and core activity as directed.
