Fundraising Consultant Global (Contract)

T1International is a global organisation that is quickly growing, both in supporters and staff. However we are still fairly new in our fundraising development and currently only have a small Development (Fundraising) Team. We have identified a need to add additional short term capacity in some key areas of fundraising to help diversify our funding portfolio and support long term financial sustainability. We have received a grant to fund this piece of work.

We are looking for expert knowledge within the Trusts and Foundations area within the health and advocacy sector to add both additional knowledge and practical support to the current Development Team. This position would undertake research and information gathering to grow our grants pipeline and also provide hands on support in writing and submitting key funding applications/proposals. The ideal candidate would have a high level of competence and expertise within Trusts and Foundation, ideally having experience of advocacy organisations and with a global lense.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Research and Development - 30%

As the Fundraising Consultant you will undertake a review of the current funding pipeline and then undertake additional research to grow and develop this into a healthy functioning pipeline. This will include researching new funders and detailing funder criteria and timelines.

Implementation and Administration- 70%

Once the pipeline has been fully built you would be expected, working with the Development Director, to compile and write key funding applications/proposals in line with the findings and prospects within the pipeline. We would expect these to vary in value and be for a range of project and core activity as directed.

Desired Experience

• 5+ years writing and submitting funding applications and developing funding prospect pipelines
• A specialist focus on health causes and if possible experience working with advocacy charities is preferred
• Experience of researching and writing applications with a global perspective is ideal as our Global team supports advocates and projects all around the world
• Previous experience as a virtual consultant with remote teams is essential
• Proven ability to generate process and record keeping documentation that is clear and user-friendly is essential

Reporting

This role will report to the UK based Development Director and will work closely with the Executive Director (UK based) and Development Manager (US based) as well as other staff members as required. The role does not need to be based in the UK but will need excellent knowledge of both UK and global funders and an ability to work within UK working hours when required.

Rate of Pay

• up to £350 per day depending on experience
• total contract value up to £5,250
• this rate excludes operational spend such as database licences

Length of Project

Contract to ideally run from July 2021 and will finish no later than November 31, 2021

• Research and Development –approximately 5 days over 1-2 months
• Implementation and Administration–approximately 10 days over 2-3 months
