Life with diabetes is complicated.
Access to vital insulin, diabetes supplies and medical care should not be.
By 2050, more than 1.3 billion people will have diabetes. Yet the global diabetes crisis is underfunded and misunderstood. Insulin is essential for people with type 1 diabetes, and many with type 2. Though insulin's discoverers gave away the patent for $1 so it could be available for all, a century later, half of the people who need insulin can't access it. T1International is fighting to change that.
When you do not have your health, everything else is impacted. Intersectional issues of poor health, disability, and poverty can only truly be tackled through advocacy to address root causes. Rather than quick fixes or band-aid solutions, our model works collaboratively with diabetes patient leaders worldwide, sharing tools and training to improve lives locally and effect change globally.
