Out of Pocket Expenses & Rationing Survey Research Fellow

Research Fellows will contribute to the drafting, survey writing, analysis, interpretation, and writing of the 2026-2027 T1International Out-of-Pocket Expenses and Rationing Survey. This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Research Fellows are expected to commit about 4-12 hours per month, depending upon the stage and needs of the projects. The Authorship team will meet monthly starting in June 2025 and is expected to meet through June 2027. Research Fellows will discuss and decide on software for coding and for survey collection, on publication, and other key decisions, supervised by and reporting to the Global Advocacy Manager and to the Executive Director. Research Fellows will ensure that the report reflects the global perspectives and lived experience of survey participants. Research Fellows will support advocacy efforts by producing evidence-based publications that highlight the challenges people with diabetes face in accessing insulin. We value experience diversity including geographic diversity, and a range of experience, including students as well as experienced or tenured professionals.

This volunteer role will contribute to an influential and global advocacy project, be named as a co-author on this report, strengthen their professional network, and gain visibility as part of a global research and policy advocacy initiative. Research Fellows will also potentially work with external research partners for evaluation on study design and community-led advocacy research.
