Our Ethical Fundraising Promise

T1International exists to serve people with diabetes, not corporations or special interests. Our fundraising practices protect our independence so that our campaigns, policies and advocacies are always guided by our mission, vision, and values.

Our commitment

We will never accept funding from pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, or any organization whose funding or efforts may compromise our independence. This includes organizations with direct or indirect financial ties to industries or interests that conflict with our mission and values.

No donor can influence our policies, campaigns, research, public positions, or advocacy priorities. We make our decisions independently, based on the needs and experiences of our community, people living with diabetes.

Our ethical fundraising promise

We fundraise from individuals, business, and charitable grant-making foundations whose support aligns with our mission and meets all of the following conditions:

  • The funding advances our mission and benefits people with diabetes.
  • T1International retains complete independence over our policies, activities, and decision-making.
  • The funding strengthens our independent voice.
  • The donor’s activities are consistent with our values and do not conflict with our commitment to global health equity, human rights, or social justice.
  • The funding does not create an actual or perceived conflict of interest.

Our standards

As a U.S. registered nonprofit with a global community, T1International is committed to holding ourselves to the highest fundraising standards and regulations. We provide accurate information about our work, use donations responsibly, and respect the privacy and communication preferences of every donor, volunteer and supporter in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Our independence is our strength

Our independence is one of our greatest strengths. It allows us to speak truthfully, challenge powerful special interests, and advocate without compromise for affordable, accessible medicines and diabetes care for everyone.
