Insulin Price Caps
In March 2023, after years of dogged advocacy at shareholder meetings and in the press, the Big Three insulin manufacturers, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Sanofi, announced they would be lowering the list prices of several of their insulins. T1International welcomed the news and kept the pressure on, because voluntary announcements can be reversed, and many patients found that they could not access the lower-cost insulins that had been promised.
That is why T1International calls for legislated insulin price caps, laws that lock in lower prices and hold manufacturers accountable. We have also fought for copay caps for insured patients in states across the US and for Medicare beneficiaries. These copay caps are meaningful steps for the people they reach, but people without insurance remain the most at risk.
