T1International’s Kenya #insulin4all Chapter brings together people living with diabetes, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocates to improve access to affordable diabetes care across Kenya.

Our chapter is working to raise awareness of the barriers people with diabetes face while building a strong community of advocates who can push for lasting change. Through education, storytelling, and grassroots organizing, we amplify the voices and experiences of people living with diabetes and advocate for policies that improve access to insulin, diabetes supplies, and quality healthcare.

What We’re Working On

The Kenya #insulin4all Chapter is focused on strengthening patient advocacy, raising awareness of diabetes access challenges, and building connections between people living with diabetes across the country. The chapter has supported T1International’s global campaigns, shared local perspectives on insulin access, and continues to help ensure that the experiences of people in Kenya are represented in the global #insulin4all movement.

Who leads this group

Chasia, Chapter Leader

Chasia Lewis lives and breathes type 1 diabetes advocacy. He’s been at it since 2010, ever since his own diagnosis, and he’s not slowing down. At Maseno University in Kenya, Chasia juggles student life with his love for technology and his mission to make life better for others with diabetes. He doesn’t just talk about change—he’s out there doing the work. As a diabetes educator and youth leader, he handles the nuts and bolts for big awareness events like the Annual DMI Diabetes Walks. Above all, he fights to make sure every diabetes champion can get the insulin they need.
